सिद्धार्थनगर। जिले के पांच विधानसभा क्षेत्र में तीन सीट भाजपा एवं भाजपा गठबंधन की झोली में गई, जबकि दो सीट पर सपाइयों को कब्जा करने में कामयाबी मिल गई। इस बार चुनाव में जिले में सपा ने दो सीट की बढ़त बनाई है, क्योंकि पिछले विधान सभा चुनाव में पांचों पर सीट पर भाजपा और भाजपा गठबंधन का कब्जा था। बांसी विधानसभा से स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जयप्रताप सिंह चुनाव जीत गए। शोहरतगढ़ विधानसभा क्षेत्र से भाजपा गठबंधन के अपना दल एस के प्रत्याशी विनय वर्मा ने जीत दर्ज की। वहीं कपिलवस्तु विधानसभा क्षेत्र से भाजपा प्रत्याशी श्यामधनी राही दूसरी बार विधायक बनने में सफल रहे। इसी प्रकार इटवा से सपा प्रत्याशी पूर्व विधानसभा अध्यक्ष माता प्रसाद पांडेय चुनाव जीत गए, जबकि डुमरियागंज विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सपा प्रत्याशी सैयदा खातून भी जीत गई हैं।
